This body of work explores the traditional romantic photographic representation of rural Ireland found in picture postcsrds. Such imagery often presents Ireland in a way which suggests that it has been unaffected by modernity. These images challenge this perception by introducing an element of modernity into imagery created in the style of photographers of the past.
Each image has been shot using film and an old medium format camera in the style attributed to such photographers as John Hinde. It was exhibited as part of my Degree show in the National Gallery Archives and afterwards in The Alliance Francais, The RDS Show and The Westport Art Show.
